This design comes from the Sangorski & Sutcliffe bookbinding which is famous for its fine jewellery binding. The original binding, made in 1922 for the poem written by Kipling to celebrate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, was embellished with turquoises, aquemarines and rubies.
