How to Measure Pilings and Get the Correct Caps
Properly measuring pilings and order the correct size the first time to Finish your project at one time.

1.Some Tips for Measuring
Measure the tops of ALL piles.
Please don't measure one and assume they all have the same dimensions,
Because wooden pilings are all different, not completely round and do not have the exact same measurements.

2.The Most Accurate Way: String and Circumference Measure Method
①Using a string and wrap the string around the pole
② Lay string out and measure the length of the string
③ Use the Circumference Conversion Chart provided
OR Divide string length by π or 3.14159 to get the diameter of cone cap you need to purchase
OR search for Circumference Calculator, put string length in circumference and it will calculate the diameter
For example,Length of string = 26 inch divided by (π) 3.14159 = 8.27606 Diameter = 8.5 Inch piling cap

3.Less Accurate Way
① Measure the piling in both directions North/South and East / West since piling are not round always
②Piling caps are slightly larger to allow for different size pilings
For example, a piling measures 8.3in x 8.1in = need a 8.5in piling cap
