Description

DPS is a device that supplies 3-phase 200V-240V to a 3-phase motor with a single-phase 200V-240V input. It is the first phase converter to receive UL certification, thereby enhancing safety, and is increasing customer satisfaction through strict quality control and customer management. MY-PS-7.5 model should be used for a 200V-240V 5HP(3.7kW) 15amps 3 phase motor. Check the motor's rated current(A), horsepower(HP), and voltage(V). DPS is a product that runs a 200V-240V 3 phase motor from single phase 200V-240V. The DPS is equipped with safety covers on the input and output for customer safety. One DPS must be used for only one motor. One DPS should never be used on multiple motors. If you are unsure about selecting a DPS model, contact the seller or manufacturer. After purchasing, thoroughly read the user manual enclosed with the product and then install the DPS on the motor. Installation method is simple. Simply connect the 2 input wires to the DPS input and the 3 wires of the motor to the DPS output. DPS CAUTIONS 1) The DPS must be properly selected and used according to the motor specifications. Check the motor's rated current(A), horsepower(HP), and voltage(V) to select the DPS model. 2) The MY-PS-7.5 model should be used for 200V-240V 5HP 15A 3-phase motor. If used on motor with less than 5HP (e.g. 3HP motor, 2HP motor), the motor may generateheat, make noise, and cause problems with motor operation. 3) The DPS should only be used on one motor; one DPS should not be used on multiple motors. 4) The DPS can make 200V-240V single-phase to 200V-240V 3-phase. 5) The voltage of the motor must be set to 200V-240V (delta wired). 6) Efficiency is around 90% when using a DPS model that matches the motor specifications. 7) Make sure the wire thickness is suitable for the motor current rating. 8) DPS does not work with 3-phase motor equipped with 3-phase brake. 9) The DPS drives the motor to create an induced 3-phase, so you can measure 3-phase at the DPSoutput when the motor is running. If the motor is not running, you cannot measure 3-phase at theDPS output. 10) If you connect a magnetic contactor between the motor and the DPS, be sure to connect the two control wires coming from the magnetic contactor to the 'U' and 'W' terminals of the DPS output. If the motor does not run when power is applied, try swapping the positions of the three wires connected to the DPS output. If you want to reverse the rotation, simply swap the 'U' and 'W' wires of the three wires connected to the DPS output. 11) For motors with high capacity, electronic overcurrent relays (EOCR) are often installed on magnets and other devices to protect the motor. In this case, the current value setting should be larger than the rated current of the motor, otherwise the motor may not start or the motor may stop during operation. Also, the capacity of the breaker should be larger than the rated current of the motor, otherwise the breaker may trip while the motor is running. 12) If the machine has a magnetic contactor, it must be for 220V only. The DPS cannot work with 380V or 440V magnetic contactor. 13) Generally speaking, phase converter makes 3-phase from a single-phase, which can inherently cause current imbalance. And the current values of 'U' and 'W' phase of the DPS output change according to the load of the motor. Therefore, when the motor is not heavily loaded at the initial startup, there may be an imbalance in the current of the 'U' and 'W' phases of the DPS output. However, when the motor is loaded with more than 80%, the 'U' and 'W' current values are balanced. Also, the 'V' current value is approximately the same or slightly lower than the rated current value of the motor. 14) If you are experiencing current imbalance when the motor is loaded at 80% or more, please check the DPS model settings. The DPS has available models based on the specifications of each motor. If you use a DPS that is higher than the motor specification, the motor may generate heat or noise. Also, make sure that the motor is not overloaded. DPS efficiency is around 90%. Typically, the 3-phase supplied by the power company and the 3-phase produced by the DPS are different. This is because the DPS converts from single-phase to 3-phase. Therefore, we recommend using a motor efficiency of 90% or less.
