1.Description:
The time-of-flight sensor is another excellent time-of-flight distance sensor in the ST VL5 series chips, which is very suitable for shorter distances. This sensor contains a very small invisible source and a matching sensor. VL53L4CD can detect 'time of flight', which is the time required for light to reflect back to the sensor. Due to its use of a very narrow light source, it is advantageous to only determine the distance from its front surface. Unlike sonar that reflects ultrasonic waves, the sensing "cone" is very narrow.
This sensor has a small size and is easy to use in any robot or interactive project. Due to its requirement for a 2.8V power supply and logic, we placed this little on a distribution board with a voltage regulator and level conversion. You can use it with any 3-5V power supply or logic microcontroller without worrying.
