The updated APS-C-format 24.2MP Exmor CMOS sensor delivers rich, detailed image quality with minimal noise. It has a high sensitivity range from ISO 100-32000, extendable to ISO 102400 for shooting in dim light. The sensor's unique design includes thin copper wiring, improved circuit processing, and an upgraded front-end LSI. These enhancements increase light absorption, reduce noise, and speed up readout times, which are particularly beneficial for video recording.
The combination of the sensor and BIONZ X processor allows for a maximum continuous shooting speed of 11 fps with autofocus and auto exposure, and supports 16-bit recording with 14-bit raw file output for an expanded range of tones and colors.
