Blue Cohosh grows in the USA and Canada. Blue Cohosh (Caulophyllum Thalictroides) is a herbaceous perennial with a tuberous-thickened rhizome. It is creeping, growing horizontally and closer to the surface of the earth. The stalk leaf has a branchy up-straight stem, which, grows from 50 to 140 cm. The flowers of the plant are pale yellow. The flowering period is late spring - early summer (in May-June). In September-October the fruits begin to ripen. The fruit is a spherical drupe with dry skin. The skin, as a rule, falls off before the fruit has fully ripened. As a result, a dark blue fruit with a large seed inside remains on the stem.
